“Rep Ciscomani has a poor record on seniors’ issues. He has supported cutting both Social Security and Medicare,” said Richard Fiesta, an expert on retirement security issues and Treasurer of Retired Americans PAC. “He also opposed legislation to lower drug costs by requiring Medicare to negotiate lower drug prices for seniors; cap out-of-pocket drug costs at $2000 a year; cap insulin copays at $35 per month; and make necessary vaccines free for all Medicare beneficiaries.”
“Ciscomani voted for a 22% budget cut to the Department of Veterans Affairs, which would result in 30 million fewer veteran outpatient visits, undermine access to telehealth, worsen wait times for benefits, and fail to honor the memory of our veterans.”
While Ciscomani will speak up through letters to Johnson or behind closed doors in committee meetings, his constituents want more, if the town hall phone calls are any indication.
Ciscomani is quick to praise President Trump in many areas, and that’s warranted and expected. But he ignores that the president has introduced confusion, disorder and turmoil to nearly every aspect of daily life.
That warrants a public response and the kind of leadership Ciscomani isn’t delivering right now.
As a Senior Noncommissioned Officer (Sergeant First Class) in the United States Army, I learned something. There are a lot of “leaders” who may be good people. I could give Ciscomani grace that, maybe, he is a good person, BUT Ciscomani is not a good leader. He is pandering to an unconstitutional President, he is lying to his constituents, and he is supporting programs that actively hurt his constituents.
Bottom line - Juan Ciscomani needs to leave, step aside, and let someone who isn’t afraid to be leader properly represent Arizona’s Congressional District 6.
-
Arizona District 6 is full of farmers and low income people part of the working class. The right has never been (at least in the past two decades) the party for the working class. They are lying to you!
Right now Ciscomani, and other politicians in the House and Senate, are trying to cut Medicare, Social Security, and give huge tax breaks to the Millionaires and Billionaires.
Stop listening to what these CONARTISTS say and look at what they do. They don’t care about you, the working people of Arizona; they care about profits and profits alone.
-
Like every disenfranchised group, the elderly deserves respect. In Cochise County alone, where I live, there is approximately 24% of elderly people in the population.
The elderly put the time in, supporting their communities for decades. We can’t forget or give up on them when they’ve become senior citizens.
-
Arizona’s reliance on the Colorado River are understandable… we live in a desert, however, it will run out. We need to find sustainable ways to protect the Earth, maintain Arizona water for Arizonans
